Covering letter for section 21 notice
Use this as a covering letter when serving a notice seeking possession under section 21 of the Housing Act 1988 on your tenants.
Important: The Renters' Rights Act will come into force on 1 May 2026. Among other significant changes, this will abolish section 21 notices. You can use a section 21 notice up until 30 April 2026 (i.e. this is the last day that you can serve it on tenants).
